NZ Muslims Condemnation of Aggressive Israeli Attacks on Gaza

The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) expressed its deep concern on the escalation of the Israeli attacks on Gaza. In addition to the incessant bombardment, Israel has now begun aggressive ground and sea attacks. These blatant assaults from the sky, sea and the ground are grossly unbalanced and totally unnecessary.
More innocent civilians especially women and children have been killed by the massive attack by Israel. The population of Gaza has been terrorised and traumatised by the brutal aggression of Israel. More than 500 innocent Palestinians have been killed since Israel began its nasty operation 9 days ago. Israel has lost all its moral grounds. So has the international community, especially the United States. The Israelis have clearly taken advantage of the silence of the international community.

The Federation is further aggrieved by the present New Zealand Government's muted and unbalanced response to the human catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. The National Government's biased stand on the issue has tarnished the good international reputation once enjoyed by New Zealand under the previous Labour Government. This is extremely shameful.
The Federation strongly condemns the bloody and brutal Israeli attacks and the disproportionate use of force. Israel has committed genocide on innocent civilians including many children. This is also crime against humanity. It is a double jeopardy that the international community (including the United States, Australia and New Zealand) is continuing to condone such unacceptable violation of international humanitarian laws and rules.
Once again the Federation is vehemently condemning this high-handed and appalling act by Israel and calls upon the New Zealand Government and all world leaders, in particular the United States Administration, to come out strongly to censure Israel for its brutal and dastardly attack on the civilian population of Gaza and demand for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
