The Holy Month of Ramadhan has dawn upon us. This is the month of Mercy and Blessings. Muslims in New Zealand will commence observing Ramadhan from Thursday, 6 October until the beginning of November when Eidul Fitr (festival to mark the end of Ramadhan) will be celebrated upon the sighting of the new moon.
On behalf of the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ), I am pleased to extend our heartiest greetings to the Muslim community of New Zealand for a very happy and successful Ramadhan. We pray to Almighty Allah to accept our pious prayers and deeds during this Holy Month and to bless us with His endless Mercy and Bounty.
Muslims have enjoyed peace and harmony in New Zealand with members of all religions. May Almighty Allah help us use this month as a special occasion to spread the message of peace, sharing and giving with our neighbours and friends, and strengthen our bonds with the wider community. Ameen.
