Ramadhan Message From Javed Khan, President Of FIANZ
The holy month of Ramadhan has once again dawned upon us. We are most grateful to Allah Almighty for giving us yet another opportunity to observe fasting and to be extra pious and perform the righteous deeds to gain the pleasure of Allah SWT. The holy month of Ramadhan is observed by Muslims world over on the ninth month of the Muslim lunar year. This month has been declared sacred in the Holy Qu'ran wherein Allah Almighty says: "O you who believe, fasting is prescribed on you as it was prescribed to those before you so that you may become pious." (Chapter 2 Verse 183).
Ramadhan is a holy and glorious month - the month of worship, the month of Al-Qur'an and the month to multiply manifold our acts of worship and level of iman.
Ramadhan is the time when Muslims, even as we continue with our daily routines strive to become even better by strengthening our faiths, carrying out more deeds of social responsibility and expressing gratitude to Allah Almighty for every blessings that we have received.
This holy month has double significance in Islam. It was the month that the Holy Qur'an was revealed to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the night when the Holy Qur'an was revealed has been called the Night of Power - Layla-tul Qadr, the night where a single moment of enlightenment of the Noor of Allah converts the night into a period of spiritual glory and majesty that touches eternity. Layla-tul Qadr is always referred to as the most blessed night better than 1,000 nights.
Almighty Allah has also promised His mercy, forgiveness and the saving from hellfire to all Muslims as a reward for fasting and doing good deeds in Ramadhan.
Indeed, Ramadhan is full of wisdom and meanings.
